Jersey Crab Shack Fish and Chips

Seafood Week is a unique eight-day campaign which runs from 7-14th October 2016. Celebrating the amazing variety of fish and shellfish available in the UK, it was designed to encourage people to eat more fish, more often.

Seafood Week aims to give seafood the recognition it deserves, thanking the hard-working people who produce it, from fishermen who bring in the catch all year round to the chefs who serve it to our table. Here at JPRestaurants, we serve a fantastic variety of fish and shellfish dishes to customers and visitors in Jersey daily. We support local fishermen and fishmongers, and offer seafood caught on local day boats where possible. Over 1,200 tonnes of shellfish are caught in Jersey annually, with king and queen scallops available year round, while skate ray, brill, turbot and sole are also available in abundance.

The event already has the backing of key players in the industry, including Seafish, the industry body that works to secure a profitable, sustainable and socially responsible future for the UK seafood industry.

Heather Middleton, Marketing Manager at Seafish, said: “We want to bring the whole of the UK together to celebrate and showcase al l the best that seafood has to offer.”

So although Jersey is not part of the UK, we want you to join us in celebrating Seafood Week – what better time to visit the Oyster Box, Jersey Crab Shack or Banjo to discover the variety of seafood dishes on offer? We have bass, haddock, Dover sole, lemon sole, oysters, prawns, squid, cod, crab, lobster, seafood linguine, mussels, scallops, salmon and much more!
