Information about accessing our venues for guests with limited mobility
Everyone is welcome at our restaurants, cafés and visitor accommodation and we aim to make our venues as accessible and inclusive as possible. Some of our sites are in historic or listed buildings, which may mean that they unfortunately cannot be adapted to suit guests with limited mobility.
This Accessibility Guide has details about access to our venues for guests with limited mobility, disabilities, health conditions or other special requirements. If you have a specific concern or query that isn’t answered here, please get in touch with us and we’ll do our best to help.
Accessibility for Guests with Limited Mobility
Jersey Crab Shack is located at St Brelade’s Bay, a short distance from the nearest bus stop and disabled parking facilities.
Step-free access is available via the pathway through the seaside gardens.
Some seating at the restaurant (e.g. booth seats, tables close to doorways) may be unsuitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility. Please mention when you book if you need a space suitable for a wheelchair or an easy-access seat for a person with limited movement.
There is some space for a wheelchair to manoeuvre and the interior of the restaurant is flat and step-free, however some areas may not be accessible for bigger wheelchairs or walking aids.
Accessible toilet facilities are available in the sister restaurant (Oyster Box) which is attached to Jersey Crab Shack.
Oyster Box is located at St Brelade’s Bay, a short distance from the nearest bus stop and disabled parking facilities.

Banjo and 8 Beresford Street are located within a listed building in Jersey’s town centre. A bus stop, and disabled on-street parking, are a short distance away.
Banjo & 8 Beresford Street are accessed via granite steps to the main entrance. The building is listed and unfortunately cannot be significantly adapted, however for guests with limited mobility, there is an external lift to access the basement, where there is a flat (step-free) route to an internal lift. The external lift requires a staff member to operate, so please get in touch with us in advance if you will need to use the lift for access.
The interior of Banjo and 8 Beresford Street features some narrow doorways, corridors, and entrances so some areas may unfortunately be inaccessible for wheelchair users. All floors are served by a lift, but this is a small lift and may unfortunately be unsuited to those with larger chairs or walking aids.
Hotel bedrooms at 8 Beresford Street are large and should have ample space for walking aids, however some rooms feature bath tubs with a relatively high step, and rooms are not equipped with handles or other mobility aids.
Should you wish to visit and have limited mobility, we will do our utmost to make your visit possible. Please get in touch with us in advance to let us know your requirements.
Liberation Station and Elizabeth Terminal are both accessible to guests with limited mobility. Both spaces have automatic doors, space for wheelchairs and walking aids to get around, and bus stops or disabled parking nearby.
Café Ubé in both of these locations can be accessed by customers with limited mobility.
Café Ubé at Colomberie has a narrow entrance with a small step, and limited interior space. The café is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair access.
Jersey Airport is accessible for passengers with limited mobility and has automatic doors at the entrance, step-free access, and space for wheelchairs and walking aids to manouvere. Special Assistance is available from Ports of Jersey, and can be arranged via Ports of Jersey and your airline.
Café Ubé landside is a short distance from the airport entrance, and airside is a short distance from Security. Please ask the Special Assistance team if you would like any help in visiting the cafés during your trip.
Café Ubé has self-scan checkouts, but these are staffed by our friendly team who can help to scan items for any guests who are unable.
Other Requirements & Special Requests
We have a robust allergy process that takes into account the allergen content, ‘may contain’ risks, and cross-contamination risks for the 14 main food allergens, determined by the Food Standards Agency. Please see our Allergen Approach for full details regarding food allergies.
Registered assistance dogs are welcome at all of our venues. If you are able to, please let our team know when you book that you are bringing an assistance dog with you, so that we can allocate the most suitable table.
Parents are welcome to feed babies at our venues. At some venues, a separate room can be made available. Please ask a member of the team if you need a private area to feed your baby and we will do our best to help.
Only registered assistance dogs are currently allowed inside our restaurants. This is to keep our restaurants comfortable and welcoming for everyone: we love dogs, but we know that some staff and customers may have allergies, phobias, or may just not be ‘dog people.’
Non-assistance dogs are welcome outside the restaurants, but will need to be well-behaved and will need to remain on the terrace, accompanied by their owners at all times. Please mention when you book that you will be bringing a dog, so that we can allocate an outside table. Should any dog cause a disturbance or upset to other customers, we will unfortunately require the dog and their owner leave the premises.
Other animals should not be brought to our venues.
Everyone is welcome at our venues, but we appreciate that different guests may have different preferences and requirements.
For guests with sensory needs, our venues can sometimes be very busy and noisy environments with music and conversation. Our team will be happy to recommend quieter times to visit, or to help with any queries or special requirements where possible. Please note that we are unfortunately unable to create bespoke dishes based on food preferences, but we have a detailed allergen menu and our menus generally include some plainer dishes to try to accommodate all tastes.
We offer a variety of options for healthy, low-calorie, plant-based (vegetarian and vegan), dairy-free, and gluten-free options at all of our restaurants and cafés. These options are clearly marked on our menus and allergen menus, both at our sites and online.
For other diets, such as alcohol-free, kosher or halal, please get in touch with the restaurant in advance of your visit to let us know your requirements. We may need to check some information with suppliers, so we kindly request that you give as much notice as possible, so we can confirm which dishes will suit your needs.
