We are proud to announce that JPRestaurants has become the first restaurant group in Jersey to achieve both the prestigious Gold Green Tourism Award and the Eco-Active Leader Award.

These accreditations recognise our ongoing commitment to sustainability, responsible business practices, and our dedication to supporting the local community.

Across all of our locations, we’ve worked hard to integrate eco-friendly practices, from championing locally sourced and sustainable ingredients to prioritizing low-carbon energy sources and upgrading our equipment to energy-efficient appliances.

“As a local family business, supporting our Island environment, our team, and the Jersey community has always been central to our ethos,” says Dominic Jones, our CEO. “We want to do the right thing for our People and our Island. Our goal is to create experiences that are not only good for our customers but also for our team and the environment. Receiving both the Gold Green Tourism Award and the Eco-Active Leader Award is an incredible achievement for us, and we’re delighted to be formally recognised for our commitment to sustainability. We’re proud to be leaders in sustainability within the UK hospitality sector.”

Dominic also emphasized the significance of sustainable tourism for Jersey. “Our island is home to many environmentally-conscious customers, visitors, and businesses. It’s crucial for us to offer greener dining and hospitality options that align with the values of those who want to enjoy Jersey without leaving a negative impact on the planet. We hope this accreditation encourages both islanders and eco-conscious visitors to choose us when they dine out or stay in Jersey, as well as helping local corporate clients to meet their ESG goals when dining out or hosting clients.”

The Gold Green Tourism Award is a globally-recognized sustainability certification presented by Green Tourism, a leading organisation dedicated to supporting environmentally responsible businesses. This award is the highest possible rating, acknowledging businesses that excel in promoting sustainability, reducing their environmental impact, and supporting their community and employees.

Our Green Tourism assessment praised our efforts, particularly our commitment to using locally and sustainably produced food and promoting Jersey as a responsible travel destination. Some of the feedback received highlighted that “the JPRestaurants team has demonstrated a deep understanding of sustainability and the challenges of running a responsible business. They should be very proud of what they’ve achieved.”

In addition to this, we’re thrilled to have received the Eco-Active Leader Award, granted by the Government of Jersey’s Eco-Active initiative, which recognises local businesses committed to environmental responsibility. This award further reflects our leadership in promoting sustainability within the community.

Looking ahead, we are excited to continue our sustainability journey. In the coming months, we’ll be assessing the carbon footprint of each of our dishes to identify opportunities to reduce the environmental impact of more carbon-intensive meals. This will also help environmentally-conscious customers make greener choices when dining with us.
